Classes Ages 4 – 5: Little Ninjas
Designed for children ages 4 and 5, the Little Ninja Program introduces girls and boys to Martial Arts in a creative, exciting and enriching manner.
Sigung David Moylan and Sifu Lorna Hayward work together to teach the Little Ninjas program with assistance from the Leadership Team members who have all had at least 3 years of study at the Waterloo Kung-Fu Academy. Some of our Assistant Instructors began their kung-fu journey in the Little Ninja program and now train in our Junior and Adult programs!
See the Little Ninjas Schedule below.
Life Skill Stripes
Little Ninjas receive frequent rewards for their hard work. As they progress through the program, they earn a series of 10 belts and skill stripes, which motivate them to strive for their next goal while having fun!
Our Five Kung Fu Animals
At the Waterloo Kung-Fu Academy, we study Shaolin Five Animal Kung-Fu. Our five animals teach us many lessons. In the Little Ninjas Program, students learn lessons in an exciting and active way forming a positive foundation for their martial arts, school and everyday life!
Based on our 5 Kung-Fu Animals:
The Snake teaches Little Ninjas…
Memory Developing a good memory is exercise for your child’s brain! Little Ninjas learn and remember kung-fu manners and skills in an engaging and repetitive way.
Focus Exercises are designed to develop accuracy of aim, listening skills, and reaction skills. Little Ninjas learn that focus means focusing their eyes, mind and body!
The Dragon teaches Little Ninjas…
Teamwork A skill essential in all areas of life. Little Ninjas put to practice their kung-fu manners, respect, focus and control when working with one another or as part of a team.
Coordination Exercises are specially designed to assist with the development of gross and fine motor skill development. Over time, Little Ninjas learn left from right and learn to coordinate mind and body parts.
The Tiger teaches Little Ninjas…
Discipline Discipline is fun and rewarding! Students take pride in listening and following instructions. Little Ninjas experience the rewards from doing their best, whether rooting in their stances or working hard to develop strength.
Spirit Little Ninjas as well as tigers love to play and have fun! A positive attitude is encouraged and as a result students develop confidence and enthusiasm.
The Crane teaches Little Ninjas…
Balance A skill that is crucial to develop at an early age to participate in many physical activities. Posture also improves with balance. Balance and patience go hand in hand at Little Ninjas!
Control Whether handling a pet, handling a problem, or playing with a friend, having good control means making good decisions. Control builds confidence!

Fitness Students practice the importance of being healthy through mental and physical activities. Exercises incorporate speed and power in a challenging and fun way!
Flexibility Early aged children often benefit from excellent levels of flexibility. This flexibility is harnessed and further developed resulting in healthier muscles, posture, deeper stances and over all strength.
