It is important to self-monitor and to have outlets for maintaining your own well being, including emotional, spiritual, mental and physical strategies to stay healthy.
WKFA has 23 active instructors, meaning they teach each week and attend some combination of regular classes, Black Sash classes/meetings and gradings.
In virtually every class we teach, we encourage students of all age programs to practice. For our younger students, in class I sometimes get them to say the mantra: “practice is repeating”. As martial artists, we are called to relish in the journey and not be too hasty in reaching a destination. Practice is the way.
Honouring the value of “patience,” inspired by the first line of our Student Creed: I must know how to advance slowly, to learn progressively and not carelessly.
Giving renewed attention to the humble but potent tradition of greeting one another with respect.
